This past weekend Scarborough Sharks players braved the frigid temperatures to participate in on-ice activities as part of Rogers Hockey Day in Canada. This year’s HDC event put the spotlight on Scarborough’s hockey community with a theme of “Hockey for All”
On Friday night, the U15 BB team participated in pre-production activities and were joined by Toronto’s Deputy Mayor Michael Thompson and the Stanley Cup.
On Saturday, the U11 A team’s on-ice session as part of the broadcast was led by Scarborough Sharks alumni - 2x Olympic gold medalist and Head Coach of the U of T Varsity Blues Women’s Hockey Team, Vicky Sunohara. Later in the day, the Sharks U13 B team was then joined by Greg Schell, Toronto Maple Leaf, Youth Hockey Development and former Toronto Maple Leaf players Wendel Clark and Darcy Tucker for an on ice skills session.
